Holiday Apartments in the UK

Top 5 reasons to choose a Holiday Apartment instead of a Hotel

Stays in a holiday apartment are usually for a night or up to 30 days.  The longer the stay the more cost effective this can be.

1. CostStacks of money you can save with a holiday honne

Without the need for staff on hand your self catering holiday apartment can cost much less than a similar hotel room.

You still have the choice of cheap and cheerful or top end luxury.  Try a treat in a penthouse or a short break in an apartment by the sea.

City break or coastal retreat you choose – pick your facilities, this might be a shared swimming pool or a gym.

If you pay before you stay it means no  surprise bills or misunderstanding about the cost when you go to  check out.

Your property owner may have been able to negotiate preferential rates on local attractions or a round of golf.  Usually they are locals themselves and can assist with many special offers and hot tips for your trip.

Check with each individual apartment about what is included – Usually there are towels and bed linen but not always.

2. Freedom

Most apartments have key safe check-in as a contact free option enabling much more flexibility for your party or group if not travelling together.

Therefore, you can come and go as you please, no need to worry about being locked out.

Fill the cupboards with food and nibbles to enjoy at your leisure.  Pop a film on and enjoy food prepared yourself with that home from home feel.

A healthier option, buy or bring your own food to be in control of your diet.  Eating out for long periods be convenient but is the expensive option might not be such a nutritious way to go. Buy local, fresh food and ask locals how best to prepare this.  A great way to try new dishes and get into the local culture.

Self catering apartments are equipped with all the kitchen essentials you might need during your stay.  Most property owners can also inform you of the best places to stock up on food when you are at the apartment. There is also the option to have a supermarket deliver your shopping for when you arrive.

A note to remember though, if you run out of loo roll you will need to provide this yourself just as you would at home.

3. PrivacyPrivate and secluded cottage with private gate

Feel at home, spread out and relax.  Staying in a self catering apartment really can improve your wellbeing.

Are you staying for work or pleasure?  Either way there is nothing better than being able to work in your PJ’s.

With a self catering holiday apartment more than two of you can stay with your own rooms and still keep some privacy. In a hotel you would have to have multiple rooms with no communal area to gather making having a coffee and chat or a catch up of your day awkward and less relaxing.

4. Space

Hotel rooms are often just one room.

Sprawl and make use of space to relax, enjoy a coffee on the balcony or put your feet up in the sitting area while your partner works at their desk.

The extra space will generally be more quirky with added character.  Apartments that have been created within old buildings are particularly interesting.  Some may be themed too.

5. More peopleGathering of friends and family for dinner birds eye view

It’s all about spending quality time together

Get the family together, a group of friends or old school mates.  Enjoy catching up in a stress free environment.

Prepare dinner and dine together – chopping and preparing a meal is often half the fun.  Pour a glass of wine and enjoy the whole experience from start to finish.  You will have more time when on holiday without the stresses and time constraints from home.

Alternatively, you can order a takeaway.  Whether it’s Indian, Chinese or traditional Fish and Chips (Or a mixture :-) ) you can really push the boat out and relax with a movie and your favourite tipple.

And don’t forget the pets, there may be the need to bring along your four legged friend, many hotels do not allow this but apartment owners are often more accommodating. You may incur an extra cleaning charge but check when you enquire.

All in all your self catering holiday apartment is a great hotel alternative.  Find your next well earned break now…
