Thatched Cottages for a Short Break

Thatched Cottages for a Short Break

Short breaks in this beautiful thatched cottage in the New Forest
Forest Drove Cottage in the New Forest

If you are looking for something a little different there is nothing quite like a short break in a thatched holiday cottage.

Uneven stairs and low ceilings are the order of the day. Wrap up with warm fluffy socks by the wood burner with a warm hot chocolate or a glass of something stronger!

Thatched cottages are often located in very rural areas nestled amongst the trees down little lanes with grass growing up the middle. You can almost image the horse and cart clip clopping past and stopping to drop off your morning milk.

We cannot guarantee a horse and cart but most holiday home owners will provide a welcome hamper with fresh local milk and produce as a treat to start your short break in style.

Thatch cottages have very thick walls and are warm in winter with their tiny windows and cool in the summer so you can sure of a relaxing break whatever time of year you can getaway for a staycation in the UK.
