Apple Tree Cottage
Welcome to Apple Tree Cottage, a quirky but spacious 2-bed cottage forming part of a series of adjoining Grade II Listed Buildings set in the heart of the Harewood Estate at Knap’s Yard. Subject to a recent and outstanding renovation, this cottage has been transformed into a luxurious holiday home.
Downstairs the cottage is accessed via a hall and leads in to a spacious kitchen/diner which has an induction hob and oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. The elegant coloured units are finished with a granite work top and are well stocked with glassware and crockery along with all the kitchen equipment you should need.
The spacious sitting room is home to a cosy wood burner, red-brick chimney, original period wood panelling, wood effect floors, comfortable sofas, smart Television and complementary Wi-Fi access.
Stairs off the sitting room take you upstairs where a corridor leads to a large master bedroom with a Hypnos bed which can be set as a super king double bed or twin as preferred. Further along the corridor the house bathroom features a walk in rain dance shower. At the end of the corridor is a cosy second bedroom with a Hypnos king double bed (which can also be set as a twin).
Outside there is a beautifully planted fenced garden, offering space to sit out, enjoy a BBQ and a glass of wine while enjoying the rolling landscape. There is also a lockable shed for bikes and plenty of secure off road parking.
Covering over 4000 acres there is plenty to keep you occupied as you explore the Harewood Estate. Your stay includes complementary access to Harewood House Trust, one of the Treasure Houses of England.
The Cottage give access to 15 miles of footpaths right from your doorstep. These include three famous walking routes (Leeds Country Way, Ebor Way and Dales Way), which criss-cross the Estate. Enjoy our ever-changing seasons and landscapes as you look out for our rare breed livestock, deer park, and native wildlife such as the majestic Red Kite. Take a walk to discover the ruins of the Grade I listed Harewood Castle or trek out to see the Emmerdale village, everyone’s favourite Yorkshire soap! (tours can be pre booked on selected weekends between March and October) Keep your camera handy!
If you’re more of a cyclist than a walker then Harewood has also featured on the routes of the 2014 Tour de France, we were the location for the Grande Depart! We’ve also welcomed the spin off tour de Yorkshire on several occasions. You can access the routes right from your doorstep.
