The larger of the cottages with three bedrooms and commanding views. You enter the property into a large porch with storage cupboard and ample space for coats and muddy boots. From here another door leads into the kitchen/ dining room with its original stone floor giving it that country feel. The kitchen is well equipped with modern units; dishwasher, oven and hob, large freestanding fridge freezer, microwave and blue tooth radio. The dining table seats six people.
From the kitchen enter a large open plan living area with occasional chairs next to a large log burner. An additional corner suite gives ample area for the whole family to relax and unwind with a 55 inch Smart TV. French doors leads out to a patio area and enclosed substantial lawned garden with picnic table, parasol, BBQ and fire pit. The views from the garden are spectacular.
The open plan wooden staircase leads upstairs to three bedrooms and a modern, newly fitted house bathroom with a bath and overhead rain dance shower. The generous master bedroom has a luxurious fixed Hypnos superking bed and views on two sides to the parkland landscape beyond. The second bedroom also has a Hypnos kingsize double, which can also be set as a twin if preferred. The third bedroom is ideal for children with generous solid oak bunk beds.
A washer / dryer can be located in the properties outhouse next to the parking area, which also provides a lockable space for bikes etc.
Covering over 4000 acres there is plenty to keep you occupied as you explore the Harewood Estate. Your stay includes complementary access to Harewood House Trust, one of the Treasure Houses of England.
The Cottage give access to 15 miles of footpaths right from your doorstep. These include three famous walking routes (Leeds Country Way, Ebor Way and Dales Way), which criss-cross the Estate. Enjoy our ever-changing seasons and landscapes as you look out for our rare breed livestock, deer park, and native wildlife such as the majestic Red Kite. Take a walk to discover the ruins of the Grade I listed Harewood Castle or trek out to see the Emmerdale village, everyone’s favourite Yorkshire soap! (tours can be pre booked on selected weekends between March and October) Keep your camera handy!
If you’re more of a cyclist than a walker then Harewood has also featured on the routes of the 2014 Tour de France, we were the location for the Grande Depart! We’ve also welcomed the spin off tour de Yorkshire on several occasions. You can access the routes right from your doorstep.
