One of three gorgeous shepherds’ huts in a complex set around a duck pond in stunning North Yorkshire. There are lovely walks from the doorstep and a pretty village within a 5-minutes’ stroll. Sleeping up to three adults comfortably, they are the perfect rustic retreat for couples and young families alike. Handbuilt by the owner, this beautiful little shepherds’ hut which comes equipped with everything you need for a cosy short break. Inside you’ll find a small but perfectly proportioned open plan living space. It’s a bijou space, and with its neutral wood panelling it feels surprisingly spacious. In addition to the electric radiators, a cute little wood burner sits at its heart keeping everything nice and toasty, whatever the time of year! And in the evenings, the mood lighting creates a very special atmosphere inside. If you’re concerned about going too off-grid, don’t be – the hut comes complete with a TV/DVD and Wi-Fi too. There’s a small kitchen which includes a hob, sink, fridge and plenty of crockery and glassware to use. A small dining area is set by the wood burner, the perfect spot to sit down for lunch and enjoy the antics of the ducks outside.
The bespoke beds are super-comfortable offering space for two below and one above. Kids, in particular, will adore their lofty sleeping quarters! At the opposite end of the hut you’ll find a walk-in shower room and WC. Outside you’ll find a picnic bench with uninterrupted views of the duck pond and surrounding countryside. A lovely spot for al fresco dining in the warmer months. And if you don’t feel like cooking, we recommend the bridal path walk past the church to the pretty village nearby for lunch. The wider estate has a number of other attractions including various activities, plenty of spots to throw down a picnic blanket and a children’s play area too.
Breathtaking location set within a large estate on the cusp of the Yorkshire Dales near Gilling West it’s an ideal basecamp from which to strike out and discover these unique Yorkshire locations. Reeth (14 miles) and the stunning landscapes of Swaledale and Arkengarthdale are also within easy reach. It’s the perfect location if you enjoy walking. There are lots of beautiful walks from the doorstep and in fact its well-known as a great starting point for walking – seasoned walkers come from miles around to set off from the village.
