The Quarterdeck at Coble Quay
The Quarterdeck at Coble Quay in Amble has a spectacular view, situated on the 2nd floor, looking over the yachts in Amble Marina and out to sea, over Warkworth beach dunes and up the Coquet Estuary to Warkworth Castle – it’s an artist’s paradise. The Quarterdeck has been awarded 5 stars by Visit England.
As the tides and light change so does the vista, offering a fabulous place to relax and unwind. If you enjoy bird or wildlife spotting this is the place for you with many species, including seals, regularly seen from the balcony.
The Quarterdeck is situated on one of the most scenic stretches of National Cycle Route One, offering mostly off-road family-friendly cycling running up and down the coastline. Cycles for all ages can be hired locally, or if you bring your own there is secure cycle storage. There are a wealth of watersports available directly from Amble, all within easy walking distance of The Quarterdeck. Boat trips to Coquet Island and the Farne Islands offer the opportunity to see seals, puffins and many other sea birds up close. There is a small beach within walking distance called The Little Shore, and just beyond this there is a waterplay area and children’s playground, perfect for families.

A leisure pass for The Granary in Amble is available for guests staying at The Quarterdeck. The leisure pass includes free use of the swimming pool for 2 adults and 2 children (16 years old and under) and free use of the gym for adult guests only. Please note an induction for use of the gym is required with The Granary before use. This is available from October 2018 to October 2020. Please request this at the time of booking.
